Thank God for Black Jack!

My session at the Aladdin on January 10th was a disaster to say the least. After running top two into top set, a guy catching a miracle 2 outer on the river against my nut flush and me once again finding myself set over set. I was stuck for $800 again in 1-2 No limit. Sometime I feel I run unlucky, but who doesn't.

I did make one bad play in this session that cost me about $200 when I made a call with As Js on a Ah 7d 3h, 4d board. I should have folded this hand, but do think I was a bit on tilt and I ran into a set of 7's and a player holding Ad 4s. I was the third person in the pot, which is my indication that I should have folded. Oh well, that is what No Limit Hold 'Em is about learning from your mistakes, making good folds and maximizing your wins.

Hopefully Mike can delve more into AJ's mind about minimize maximize in your win/loss. I think some of this philosophy can improve my game. After the session Patrick, Todd and myself went to eat, but not before I made them swing by a Black Jack table on the main floor. I quickly ran $200 into $700 at Black Jack and called my experience at the Aladdin $300 loss.

Well as you would think this was it for the day, you were wrong. After heading home, I freshened up and went back to the strip and ended up at Caesars. Well all I have to say is when you are running bad, you are running bad. 10Min's after I sat down, I was re buying chips. I ran top two into bottom set in a $800 pot, and I had another run in when I had KK all in against a player with an A in his hand as he spike a ace on the river. So all said in total I was in for $900 at Caesers, tucked my tail and left. As I left Caesers I thought 'Fuck It' how much worse can it get, and I sat down at another Black Jack table, a $25 minimum and bought in for $500. I played through three dealers, 5 shoes, and cashed out $2300, that is right over 2 G's. What a joke, I spent hours playing Poker, to get it all back in about an hour and a half at the Black Jack table!

My totals for the day Down $1700 at Poker, Up $2300 at Black Jack I was up a total of $600 for the day/ "How in the hell" is all I could think. Well I am glad the sun shined on this horrid day. I know I need to work on my swings a little in Poker, maybe, a little less gamble, although, it was the gamble that got me up for the day.
