The First Post

Although this is the first post to this blog, in no way will we only continue from this point forward. I will occasionally return to a previous session and discuss some of my luckiest, favorite and most memorable moments.

I will start with an introduction:
Hi, my real name is Steve (Last name hidden to protect the innocent). From here on out I will be referred to as "The Chosen One", "El Diablo", "Me" or "That really, really good looking guy at the poker table".

I have been playing poker for the last 4 years starting by playing 2-4 & 3-6 limit while I lived in Oregon. I do not have many stories from early on but do a have a few. I played with my good friend Mikey also known as the "Gaysion". We would play at Spirit Mountain Casino located about 25 minutes outside of Salem Oregon on the Oregon coast.

I have lived in Las Vegas for 3 years now, love every minute of it and have worked my way from playing 2 - 4 Limit at the Palms to playing occasionally a 2 - 5* No Limit game. I currently play 1 -2 No limit all over Las Vegas and will play tournaments occasionally. I have made a few good friends from playing Poker, one of which is Mike not Mikey also known as "Highwaytime" and Adam known as "Sandviper23". Their blogs can be found on the right in the description area.

This blog will be intended for me to brag, boast and bitch on. I will probably bitch more here since I have been working on my anger at the Poker table. This anger will be explained later in future blogs.

I am also a nightclub and radio DJ. I am the resident DJ currently at V Bar in the Venetian, Mist Bar and Lounge in the T.I. and am on the radio with Hot 97.5 here in Vegas and Wired 96.9 in Spokane Wa.

In my next post I will be discussing my "Fun Times with Tony B." but till then here is a hand from my last session at the Aladdin playing 1 - 2 No Limit. Hand occurred 12/29/06. Two players had just been moved from a broken game and the player who was wearing a NASA hat sat to the left of the big blind. From this position he started to straddle every time. The button player in this situation raised every time this player straddled.The table was 7 handed when this hand came down. Our friend Mr. NASA placed a straddle bet and in this pot I was in middle position. I limped with the Kc Jc it folded to the button who of course "Raised" his raise was to $20. The small blind called our Hero folded and I called the raise going 3 ways to the flop. The flop of 6h 4c 2d came down. SB checked, I checked and the button bet $25. The SB folded, I called the bet. The turn was the 2s, I led out to $60, the button in disgust mucked his hand. I knew he was full of it, but the great thing was this hand led to another hand where a player who after I showed my bluff, said "I would have called with and Ace". We played a later pot and I got him to call a large bet with middle pair.
